Highly-qualified American Soccer Coach, Charlie Flowe, has been appointed International Coach Developer at Wakefield Trinity Ladies Football Club.

Currently Head Coach of Philadelphia Lone Star Women, Flowe is a former School Teacher and has coached at both a Junior and Senior level for 18 years.

Since 2019, Wakefield Trinity LFC has extended their global sister club relationships to Uganda, The Gambia, Nigeria and the United States of America and the addition of Flowe will help support those clubs with regular ‘Coach Hub’ virtual sessions.

The sharing of session plans between clubs will be encouraged and further global partnerships are anticipated once the hub sessions get underway next month.

Closer to home, Flowe is also Head Coach of Rowan College Cumberland Men’s Soccer team in addition to his responsibilities with Philadelphia Lone Star Women and hosts the World Sports Show, an online radio show where he has interviewed some of the best female players on the planet.

Speaking upon his appointment to the role, Flowe, stated, “I am delighted to join the Wakefield Trinity family.

“I admire what they are doing on and off the pitch and I am looking forward to helping grow our women’s team and create opportunities globally. I would like to thank the club for this amazing opportunity.”

While, Club Chairman, Craig Shepherd, followed, “I have had the pleasure of knowing Charlie for a couple of years now and was privileged to join his radio show last year to discuss our Sister Club arrangement with Philly Lone Star Women.

“He has a love for the game that is unrivalled, a thirst to grow the game locally in Philadelphia but also globally and carries the same philosophies as Wakefield Trinity, so it was a good fit for both parties.

“The appointment of Charlie is a huge signal of intent that our vision to grow the game globally, in addition to locally, is unmoved and we welcome him on board.”
